Padded Envelopes
A guide for learning about how to find great black envelopes and other envelopes
What do you do if you have a very expensive or delicate item that you need to mail to someone else? The answer is – to put it inside a padded envelope. Padded envelopes are envelopes that are stuffed with another material on the outer layer, such as bubble paper, cotton, or recycled fibers, on the front and back sides. This padding protects whatever is inside the envelopes so that it will not get broken, damaged, or scratched.
Mostly, padded envelopes are a brown or beige color, though for a slightly higher price you can purchase them in other shades. You can usually buy them from your local post office, stationery store, or on line. They are slightly more expensive than regular envelopes, but if they can protect the contents of your letter or parcel the extra expense is definitely worth it.
So which kinds of padded envelopes are suitable for your parcel? If you want to send something small or thin, such as a CD, you are best advised to buy a narrow, white padded envelope. The bubble wrap padding is sure to protect the CD from getting scratched. If you are thinking of sending the manuscript of your latest book, you will need something much larger. Measure the size of the material that you are sending first, and this will make it much easier for you to find a padded envelope that is the right size.
If you want to send something in a more fancy style, you can find colorful padded envelopes on the market. These are packaged in such a way that the bubble wrap is not so visible on the outside. This might take away a great source of fun for your kids, as most little children (and some big ones!) love popping the bubbles! However, this will make the package look more appealing and professionally packed.
If you want the contents of the package to be visible even before it is opened, you can use clear padded envelopes. On the other hand, you may find that an oyster bubble bag will do the job. If you are environmentally conscious, you could always use a recycled padded envelope. Recycled padded envelopes are used from purely recycled material, saving waste and keeping the environment clean. If you are looking for a colored padded envelope that is slightly cheaper, you can opt for a colored bubble bag. These exist in a variety of colors, ranging from salmon pink to black.
The world of padded envelopes is clearly very large and varied. With the huge range of colors, sizes, and padding available, there must surely be something that will fulfill your needs. All you need to do is browse your stationery store for a few minutes, and you will find the perfect item.
But whatever you choose, there is no need to stress over it. It’s not the color of the padded envelopes that matter. It’s what is inside it. And if this important object gets to its destination intact, that’s all you need to be concerned about.
